AI connection via MCP
Connect your inventory management to Claude via MCP
Already working with Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant? Then you can connect it to your DezemberHub inventory management and ask about stock, sales and orders, right in the program you already have open.
- Claude, ChatGPT and other AIs
- Only with your user permissions
- Setup with personal support
Can you connect an inventory management system to Claude?
DezemberHub is the ERP system with POS and AI assistant for shoe, fashion, and sports retail in the DACH region. Through an MCP server, it can be connected to Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants, and you can test this free for 30 days. The AI works with exactly the permissions of the signed-in user. Checking stock per store, preparing reorders or creating reports can then be done directly from within the AI program.
In brief
What is MCP?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that lets AI assistants access other programs. Instead of typing figures from the inventory management system and copying them into the chat, the AI retrieves the information itself.
For you, this means: you ask your question in plain sentences, and the answer is based on your real data instead of general knowledge from the internet.
Built-in assistant or your own AI?
DezemberHub already includes a built-in AI assistant that you can ask directly in the interface.
The MCP connection is for everyone who prefers to work in their familiar AI, such as Claude or ChatGPT, and wants to combine the inventory management there with other tasks like emails or spreadsheets.
Examples from shoe and fashion retail
What can you do with Claude in your inventory management?
Three typical tasks you can handle with a connected AI.
Check stock per store
The AI can look up how many pairs of a model in which size are in each store and in the warehouse, for example during a customer conversation.
Preparing reorders
From sell-through and stock levels, a reorder proposal can be put together, which you then review and adjust if needed.
Create reports
Weekly revenue, top brands or slow sellers of the season: the AI can summarize figures and link them with other documents in your chat.
Does this work with Claude, ChatGPT and other AIs?
Yes. Because MCP is an open standard, DezemberHub is not tied to a single AI provider. Besides Claude and ChatGPT, other AI assistants that support MCP can be connected as well. You decide which AI you want to work with, and you can switch later without changing anything in your inventory management.
For your own integrations
Open for the age of AI agents
In addition to MCP, DezemberHub offers three more ways for programs and AI agents to work with your inventory management.
REST API with OpenAPI
The REST API is described with an OpenAPI specification so that developers and AI agents can understand and call it reliably.
SDK for TypeScript and Python
A typed SDK for TypeScript and Python makes your own reports and integrations faster and less error-prone.
Command line interface (CLI)
The command line interface lets you automate recurring tasks, for example in scripts or scheduled jobs.
Permissions and data protection
What is the AI allowed to do, and where does your data stay?
Exactly your user permissions
The connected AI works with exactly the permissions of the signed-in user. Whatever this user is not allowed to see or change in DezemberHub, the AI cannot see or change either. You define who may do what in the user and permission management.
Hosted in Germany
Your inventory management runs in German data centers, and on request the data is kept locally. You decide which AI assistant you connect and which requests you make.
With the built-in DezemberHub AI assistant, your data does not leave the system, because tasks are run in our own isolated environment.
The MCP connection is part of the DezemberHub ERP system with connected POS. We handle the setup with personal support. You can find all facts at a glance on the facts page.
Frequently asked questions about the MCP connection
What is MCP and how does it connect Claude to the inventory management system?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude access other programs. DezemberHub has its own MCP server for this. Once it is connected to Claude, Claude answers questions about stock, sales and orders directly from the inventory management system, instead of you typing in figures or copying lists into the chat.
Which tasks can you handle with Claude via MCP?
In shoe and fashion retail, you can use Claude via MCP to check stock per store and size, prepare reorders based on sell-through and stock levels, and create reports such as weekly revenue or top brands. Claude can also link the figures from DezemberHub with other documents in the chat, for example a spreadsheet or an email to a supplier.
Can Claude only read data via MCP, or also change it?
That depends on the permissions of the signed-in user. Claude works via MCP with exactly these permissions: if the user may only read in DezemberHub, Claude can only read as well. If the user may create orders or change prices, Claude can do that too. You define how far the AI may go in the user and permission management.
How secure is the connection, and where does the data stay?
The AI does not receive any special permissions via MCP, only exactly the permissions of the user it is connected with. The inventory management itself runs in German data centers, and on request the data is kept locally. You decide which AI assistant you connect and what you ask it. Setup takes place with personal support.
Does this also work with ChatGPT and other AI assistants?
Yes. MCP is an open standard, so besides Claude, DezemberHub can also be connected to ChatGPT and other AI assistants that support MCP. This means you are not tied to one AI provider and can switch later. For your own integrations, there is also a REST API with an OpenAPI specification, an SDK for TypeScript and Python, and a command line interface.
