Example calculation: boots for €120 with €4.95 shipping
You sell a pair of boots for €120 plus €4.95 shipping, so the total amount is €124.95. The final value fee is 12% of that, which is €14.99. Add the fixed portion of €0.45 because the order is over €10. Total fees: €15.44. Your payout amount: €109.51, an effective fee rate of around 12.4%.
For comparison, sneakers: a pair of sneakers for €150 with free shipping costs only 7% in fees thanks to the reduced rate, which is €10.50 plus €0.45 fixed. You receive a payout of €139.05, effectively around 7.3% in fees.

Yes. The final value fee is calculated on the total transaction amount. This includes the item price, shipping costs, and VAT. If you charge shipping costs, you also pay the fee on them.

In addition to the final value fee, eBay charges an international fee: 1.6% for buyers in Europe outside the eurozone, Sweden, and the UK, 1.2% for buyers in the USA, Canada, and the UK, and 3.3% for buyers in other countries. As of June 2026.
